Chris Newlin is president and director at Eclectic Productions. Producer, director, photographer, and editor, Chris started out in television broadcasting over 35 years ago. The first decade of Chris’s career found him working in local television putting daily news and programming on the air. From a small PBS station in Corpus Christi, TX, to a couple of network affiliates in Houston, TX, it was an opportunity to learn all of the ropes of broadcast television and video production. He had an opportunity to become a part of a freelance network camera crew for the national news media, documentary producers, corporations, and other independent producers after he left local television. Clients included ABC News, PBS Frontline, NBC’s Dateline, CBS 60 Minutes and 48 Hours, the Discovery Channel, and more. Blended in were local, national, and international corporate and non-profit clients that needed their stories told in a compelling manner. It wasn’t long when it became obvious that many of those clients needed support to put their presentations together.
Chris focused on being the “go-to” guy for all the components of multi-media production. From the bare concept and brainstorming phase to a completed production: shooting video on location or in the studio, editing and assembling graphics, audio, still images, and video images, and delivering these productions on a myriad of formats. Or serve them up LIVE!
Chris’s experience with major news outlets and current events broadcasters has also provided sought out expertise in media training and public relations. He and several associates who have shared experience in this area are now able to offer media training, media crisis management, story placement, and production and writing for broadcast. In addition, he’s produced Electronic Press Kits and Video News Releases as well as standard print releases; our media contacts and press networking allow us to jump start your publicity campaign or media outreach.
Most recently, Chris has added the means to present your event “live” to his bag of tricks. Eclectic has been presenting our in-house-produced multi-media content and he’s also recording and/or broadcasting events live. A/V support services, presentation technologies, and live streaming meetings and events over the web are now a part of the company’s knowledge base.
