Asia Society Texas Center

The Asia Society Texas Center was building a brand new building in Houston’s museum district, and ASTC Executive Director Martha Blackwelder wanted a way to showcase the plans for the new building while also reinforcing their mission for those that might not be familiar with their organization. While proud of their role in fostering understanding and goodwill between Asians and Americans through leadership and business functions, Ms. Blackwater is most excited about how the arts always serve as a conduit to bring nations together. And the Asia Society excels at bringing internationally known artists to Texas. We got a chance to talk with some of the folks that ASTC works with when celebrating Asian arts; they were all incredibly excited about having a new building that would house a full size performing arts theater, a gallery, and beautiful meeting spaces to facilitate closer ties with Asian people and their culture. We used still photos of their many past events to illustrate the variety (and quantity!) of performances, lectures, guest authors, and gallery showings that they’ve sponsored. Beautiful architects rendering showed off the plans for the building now under construction.  Ms. Blackwater has been able to use the video online, and in development meetings with potential donors.
