The Rice University George Brown School of Engineering wanted to “close the deal” for students that were awarded admission but had not turned in their final acceptance to the school. Ann Lugg, communications director, and Holly Beretto, writer/producer, worked with Eclectic to capture some honest student testimonials and a little footage of the students at work. They hoped to show this to the new students during campus visitations. We wanted to create an opportunity for potential freshman to see an exciting future alongside current students, to imagine the projects and relationships that they could begin to build immediately upon entering Rice. The kids blew us away with their enthusiasm. There was no coaching in this video! These kids were naturals, they sold the program by telling their personal stories, showing off their projects, and introducing us to their faculty partners.
Ms. Beretto was a great producer and writer. She had worked with Rice president Leebron and the students; we shot all the testimonials in a couple days. Holly was ready with edit notes and we had this put together in a hurry. The Brown School of Engineering is looking forward to some excellent new admissions in the fall!
